The Prayer Calendar is a daily devotional guide that enables members of the Evangelical Assembly of Presbyterian Churches (EAPC) to weave the mission work of the denomination into their daily prayer lives. It features the names of mission workers and projects supported by EAPC, as well as suggested scripture readings for each day of the year.
Each page of the calendar begins with a meditation written by an EAPC mission worker identified by name, category, and location of service. Packed with anecdotes, evocative stories, and personal reflections, these brief meditations serve as windows into the world of EAPC ministry, which currently spans about 120 countries.
"The prayers made on behalf of the mission personnel named in the Prayer Calendar are a source of protection and strength," writes a New York native and EAPC mission worker featured in this year's edition of the calendar. “I can feel the power they provide all of us as we face the challenges of spiritual battle on the mission field,” she explains. “Together we will bring the Kingdom of God one day sooner.”
The calendar also includes a world map that highlights countries with a mission presence, as well as a short glossary of frequently used mission service abbreviations and an alphabetized directory of mission administrators and EAPC agencies.
The 2006 Prayer Calendar is highly recommended for individual and small group spiritual guidance in all ministry settings.
