| All denominations around the world are
feeling pressure over modern societal issues. This includes
the Evangelical Assembly of Presbyterian Churches as well.
People want to know where a church stands on certain moral
standpoints. In one way, it is good that people want to know
about the issues. When people question matters like these,
it forces the church to look at itself closely, and see if
it has the appropriate answers. Through this process, the
church becomes stronger and their beliefs become more concrete.
However, these ever increasing pressures are also destructive
in many ways. People may misunderstand some statements of
the church, even the EAPC, and come to conclusions that are
untrue of the denomination. Even people within the same church
may come to misconstrue these issues relating to their church.
Because of this, it is important to clearly spell out these
concerns. Below is a list of certain modern societal issues
that the EAPC has come to adopt. Hopefully through these,
people will come to know the EAPC more clearly.
Position papers taken from various sources with added revising
to fit the EAPC standard. The EAPC strongly agrees with the
positions listed below.
